If you discover a fire:
- Immediately raise the fire alarm by activating the nearest alarm call point. These are located around the building and can be found by all exit doors
- Do not attempt to tackle any fire, however small. You may be placing yourself at risk in the process.
- On hearing the fire alarm (continuous alarm):
- All non-essential persons must leave the building as quickly as possible via the nearest exit, except the appointed Fire Marshals. (Non-essential persons are those that do not have responsibility for CYP).
- If there is smoke coming out from under a door or if the door feels hot itself, do not attempt to open it
- Shut all doors behind you to prevent smoke and fire from spreading
- Assist in the evacuation of visitors as you leave
- Report to the designated assembly point on the path adjacent to the main car park entrance and await the roll call
- Do not leave the area until permission is given by the Evacuation Controller
