Lone working devices – new process

Please be aware there are changes to the process for the use of lone working devices.

All devices are now pooled. This means they are not assigned to an individual. There are devices available to take from the Care Team office and Vinten Place first floor open office which are not restricted between commercial and care.

Two very important things to note when using a device:

  • You must press the CALL1 button and record your name and location you are traveling to. A new message will automatically override the previous log. If you do not record your own message, this may delay a security response as the information the device holds at the time of need will be incorrect.

  • Ensure the red battery light is either continuously lit (full charge) or no more than 1 flash per 2 seconds (good charge) prior to taking the device. Although the device does have very good battery life, it is essential for the device to remain on charge when at Derian House.

Attached is a full guide of using the device.

If there are any queries on this process or the general use and requirements for these devices, please let Luke Bateson know.
