MONDAY 4^th

• *Katy Perry voice* ‘Just ownnnnn the nighttttt, like the 4^th of July!’ Happy American Independence Day, y’all! We’re all dressed up and ready for a day of USA-themed shenanigans throughout the hospice.

 

• Sensory Story Time will take place in the Seaside Room from 1:30 – 3:00pm for Derian families.

 

• David (CEO) is meeting the CEO of Francis House, Rev. David Ireland this morning.

 

• This afternoon, the Derian House/LifeNoW contract review meeting will take place.

 

TUESDAY 5^th  

• Weekly playgroup for our Derian toddlers and babies will take place in the Seaside Room from 10:00am – 12:00pm.

 

• David is involved in interviewing for a new role within the Lancashire and South Cumbria Hospices Together group.

 

• A representative from each department will meet for We Are Derian in the Seaside Room from 2:00pm.

 

• There’ll be a Spirituality & Communication information session led by Katie (Wellbeing & Play Team Leader) from 2:30pm in Clinical Education.

 

• We’ll have a group of young people in the Lodge for Day Care today.

WEDNESDAY 6^th

• Join our music teacher Rachel Toner in from 11am for a sing-a-long in The Snug.

• The Derian Voices will be meeting in the Seaside Room from 12:00 – 1:00pm. You’re very welcome to attend, no matter your singing ability!

 

• Sensory Story for our in-house children will take place in the Lounge this morning.

 

• An online course about Transition/Cerebral Palsy will kick off at 12:00pm today. Please speak to Kirsty Blackburn (Clinical Educator) for more information and details on how to attend.

 

THURSDAY 7^th

• Our Pets as Therapy dog, Shuna, will be arriving at Derian with her human Linda for their weekly visit.

 

• Children and young people staying with us will be in a Music & Movement session in the Lounge this morning.

 

• Happy Chocolate Day! To celebrate, we’ll be doing some yummy chocolate making in Danni’s Diner this afternoon.

 

• This fortnight’s Guided Meditation/Relaxation session with John Pilling (Family Counsellor) will be held in the Cinema (TBC) at 2pm this afternoon. All staff are welcome to attend.

FRIDAY 8^th

• Individual sessions of Music Therapy will take place in the Snug from 2:00pm – 6:00pm.

SATURDAY 9^th

• Our monthly drop-in session for bereaved parents will take place in the Seaside Room from 10:00am – 12:00pm.

 

• We’re celebrating Eid Ul-Adha with themed activities and celebration music in the Messy PlayZone this morning.

SUNDAY 10^th

• The hydrotherapy pool will be open for any in-house children and young people to enjoy a splash this morning.

• Tickets for our Open Gardens event on July 24^th are selling fast! This summer’s event is festival themed, with live music on our Smile Stage and Seaside Stage from an abundance of local performers, including our Patron Kiki DeVille, music teacher Rachel Toner, and sibling Jacob Reddy.
