SATURDAY 9^th

• Our monthly drop-in session for bereaved parents will take place in the Seaside Room from 10:00am – 12:00pm.

 

• We’re celebrating Eid Ul-Adha with themed activities and celebration music in the Messy PlayZone this morning.

SUNDAY 10^th

• The hydrotherapy pool will be open for any in-house children and young people to enjoy a splash this morning.

MONDAY 11^th

• Sensory Story Time will take place in the Seaside Room from 1:30 – 3:00pm for Derian families with Caroline W (Wellbeing & Play Worker).

 

• We’ve got a new starter joining our Housekeeping Team today.

TUESDAY 12^th  

• Weekly playgroup for our Derian toddlers and babies will take place in the Seaside Room from 10:00am – 12:00pm.

 

• The monthly SMT/Health & Safety meeting will be held in the Conference Room this morning.

 

• A ‘Spirituality’ talk will be led by Katie McNally (Wellbeing & Play Team Leader) in the Clinical Skills lab at 2:30pm.

 

• Individual sessions of Music Therapy will take place in the Snug from 2:00pm – 6:00pm.

 

• Get your gloves on, we’re having a morning of gardening fun in the Greenhouse with Gareth the gardener.

 

• Gather around the firepit Love Island-style with our very own bombshell Tina (Wellbeing & Play Coordinator) for some outdoor cooking.

WEDNESDAY 13^th

• Join our music teacher Rachel Toner in from 11am for a sing-a-long in The Snug.

• The Derian Voices will be meeting in the Seaside Room from 12:00 – 1:00pm. You’re very welcome to attend, no matter your singing ability!

 

• Our children and young people will be in the Woodland Walk with Arron (Wellbeing & Play Worker) doing some forest art this afternoon.

THURSDAY 14^th

• Our Pets as Therapy dog, Shuna, will be arriving at Derian with her human Linda for their weekly visit.

 

• Eh-eh-oh, eh-oh – it’s Bastille Day! Nous ferons de l’art et de l’artisanat Français tout au long de la journée dans la Messy PlayZone.

 

• As we edge ever closer to the end of the Great Big House Giveaway (just TEN WEEKS TO GO!), there’ll be an external meeting with Kingswood Homes to discuss the next stage of our year-long campaign.

FRIDAY 15^th

• David is attending the Lancs and South Cumbria Hospices Together meeting at Rossendale Hospice this morning.

 

• The bi-monthly Young People Lodge Forum will take place in the Lodge this afternoon.

 

• An online course on ‘Neonatal advanced care planning’ is taking place from 10:00am – 12:00pm. For anyone interested, please speak to Kirsty Blackburn (Clinical Educator), and for a full calendar of upcoming education sessions, hover over the Education tab on the Intranet and click on ‘Education Calendar’.

 

• Coffee Morning for Derian parents will be held in the Seaside Room from 10:30am.

 

• Sensory Story Time with Caroline W for our in-house children will take place in the lounge or Sensory Garden this morning.

SATURDAY 16^th

• Our weekend shift Pets as Therapy pooch Tallulah will be here at the hospice with her humans Clare and Steve to visit our children, young people and staff.

• Tickets for our Open Gardens event on July 24^th are selling fast! This summer’s event is festival themed, with live music on our Smile Stage and Seaside Stage from an abundance of local performers, including our Patron Kiki DeVille, music teacher Rachel Toner, and sibling Jacob Reddy.
