WHAT’S ON WEEKLY @ DERIAN HOUSE (Tuesday 2nd January – Sunday 7th January)

Happy New Year!

TUESDAY 2nd

  • Say hello to our new starter – HR Administrator Louise Bamber – who joins the team today.

 

  • Get the tin foil out… it’s National Science Fiction Day, so we’re celebrating with themed spacecraft arts and crafts in the Messy PlayZone today, followed by a film in the Cinema.

 

WEDNESDAY 3rd

  • Sit back and relax for a winter chill themed sensory journey in the Sensory Room this morning.

 

  • Our in-house children and young people will be enjoying fun and splashes in the hydrotherapy pool after lunch.

 

THURSDAY 4th 

  • The weekly Thursday huddle will be taking place in the Care Team office from 9:30am today. A member of staff from each team is encouraged to pop along and give a brief overview of what your teams are up to.

 

  • We’ll be indulging in a session of messy, tactile sensory exploring in the Messy PlayZone this morning.

 

  • Relax and unwind after lunch with story time in the House Lounge.

 

FRIDAY 5th

  • What’s that smell? It’s time for our world-famous smelly bingo in the Snug this morning!

 

  • Caroline W (Wellbeing & Play Worker) will facilitate our first Sensory Story Time of the year in the House Lounge after lunch.

 

  • Martha (Music Therapist) will be leading individual and group sessions of Music Therapy in the Snug from 2:00pm.

 

SATURDAY 6th

  • Nintendo Switch fun with Arron (Wellbeing & Play Worker) will take place in the Hub at the House after breakfast this morning.

 

  • It’s competition time! Who will come out on top in our in-house boccia and curling tournament?

 

SUNDAY 7th

  • It’s time for one of our favourite activities – a garden scavenger hunt! Hopefully the weather will be kind to us as we explore the hospice grounds.
